Host and directors

Venue and headquarters

Competition venue: Arvest Convention Center, 100 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK 74103. Headquarters office and headquarters hotel: DoubleTree Hotel, 616 W. 7th Street, Tulsa, OK 74127. Second headquarters hotel: LaQuinta Inn and Suites, 707 S. Houston Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74127.

Dates

  1. Franchise representative arrival: Saturday, May 9, 2026. Only one day for registration.
  2. Team arrivals: boxers and coaches must arrive prior to 3:00 PM on Sunday May 10 for the scheduled boxers and coaches technical meeting at the Arvest Convention Center. Athlete representatives are voted on during the technical meeting.
  3. Competition: Monday May 11 through Saturday May 16.

Who can box

Weights

Twenty weight classes are contested at the National Tournament. Male: 110, 121, 132, 143, 154, 165, 176, 187, 198, 198+. Female: 106, 112, 119, 125, 132, 143, 154, 165, 176, 176+.

Age

Boxers ages 18 through 40 are eligible to participate. All boxers must be at least 18 years of age prior to competing in any Golden Gloves advancing event and not yet 41 before May 17, 2026.

Entries

Each current Franchise in good standing is eligible to enter up to 10 male and 10 female boxers. Non-citizens of the US are eligible to compete in the 2026 National Tournament. All boxers must have a minimum of 10 bouts and meet the age determination requirement to compete at the National Tournament. A Bout Exception Form may be completed with authorization from the boxer’s coach, Franchise Delegate and Golden Gloves of America President, and must be submitted 7 days prior to the first Golden Gloves competition event.

Franchise team rosters must be emailed to the Executive Director immediately following the franchise region tournament and no later than Sunday April 26, 2026. Any changes to team rosters must be turned in to the headquarters office on Saturday May 9 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The headquarters office is not open on Sunday May 10, which is reserved for the draw, bracketing and the technical meeting.

Franchise delegation

A full Franchise team delegation is comprised of up to 26 members: 1 Delegate, 1 Alternate Delegate, 20 boxers, 2 team coaches and 2 officials. No franchise may participate in the tournament with fewer than eight qualified contestants. The Executive Committee may waive this requirement based on extenuating circumstances at its sole discretion.

Registration and check-in

Team registration

Boxer passbooks and final team rosters are submitted to the headquarters office at the DoubleTree Hotel on Saturday May 9 between 12:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The headquarters office closes at 9:00 PM on Saturday May 9 and remains closed on Sunday to boxers and delegates. Late franchise team arrivals will not be entered into the tournament.

Franchise delegation credentials are issued to Delegates when the team is registered at the headquarters office on Saturday May 9. Credentials are issued for the Delegate, Alternate Delegate, and boxer entrants registered by the Franchise Delegate.

Coaches

All coaches not serving as a Franchise team coach register online through USA Boxing WebPoint. Credentials for all coaches are issued at the headquarters office on Saturday May 9 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday May 10 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and daily 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM during weigh-ins only. No coaches credentials are issued outside of these times.

Officials

All officials not serving as a Franchise team official register online through USA Boxing WebPoint and complete an officials form. Credentials for all officials are issued at the headquarters office on Saturday May 9 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday May 10 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All participants must present their credentials for admission to the venue.

Tournament week

Draw and bracketing

The live draw and bracketing take place on Instagram Live on Sunday May 10 at 12:00 noon.

Technical meeting

Coach, boxer and delegates technical meeting: Sunday May 10 at 3:00 PM, Arvest Convention Center.

Weigh-ins and physicals

Monday May 11 through Saturday May 16, weigh-ins are held at the Arvest Convention Center at 7:00 AM sharp each day. Physicals take place immediately following the boxer’s weigh-in. All boxers are allowed to weigh in twice during the designated weigh-in period. No weight allowance is permitted.

Competition sessions

One session daily, Monday May 11 through Friday May 15 at 5:00 PM, and Saturday May 16 at 5:00 PM.

Rings, rounds and scoring

Three rings, three-minute rounds. Three-minute rounds are mandatory in all Golden Gloves tournaments leading up to the National Golden Gloves Tournament. Scoring is by the Xempower scoring system.

Uniforms, equipment and rules

Uniforms and equipment

All participants must wear team uniforms with team colors as provided by their Franchise. All Open Elite boxers are required to wear open-faced competition-approved headgear in all Golden Gloves tournaments (sub-franchise, regional and national). Coaches must have their own corner equipment. Competition gloves are provided at the National Tournament and must be used by all boxers in the competition. Headgear is not provided.

Rules

The 2026 National Tournament does not lead to USA Boxing national or international competition. For this tournament year, non-citizens are eligible to compete in all weight classes. Boxers are also not required to be clean shaven.

The USA Boxing National Rulebook with Golden Gloves Rule Modifications is used in conducting the tournament. Additional policies and procedures as contained in the Golden Gloves of America Bylaws and Policies and Procedures prevail over this tournament. All rules and policies outlined in this fact sheet apply at all Golden Gloves competitions, including sub-franchise and regional events.
